The general specific

In general, photos from the Sartorialist never fail to inspire. Specifically I love that dress, the draped fabric, and... well... pretty much every single thing about that last outfit.

Home for Thanksgiving for the first time in 4 years. It's nice to sit with my family by the fire, and to force my little brother to take blog photos of me in front of the house.

This particular outfit is entirely thrifted (apart from the Joe Fresh tights). The hat is suede from Danier, and the coat is my newest purchase from Vintage 1 on Ossington, a Giorgio Armani wool and cashmere work of art. I removed the shoulder pads, because frankly, I think my shoulders are big enough. I also considered adding an extra button to the teardrop neckline, but my mom and gramma think that I shouldn't mess with Armani's design. In my mother's words "you think you can design a better coat than Armani? Ha!"... she's probably right. I also love my new coco brown nail polish, makes me want chocolate.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and happy Thanksgiving everyone!

PS. The title of this post is from a Megan Bonnell song. She is my roommate, and a talented musician. Check her out here!

Won't you let your red heart show?

I love the soft lighting and deep colours in these photos. So crisp and lovely.

Our songs, faces, and second hand clothes

On our way to watch some live music on a patio on a chilly fall night. Jill's cropped sweater is so cute and cozy, and I just want to bury my face into Zoe's fur stole.

It seems that fuller, longer skirts are in for this season, sort of Mad Men inspired. I like it. And lord knows I can't resist a cozy, oversized sweater (how is it that something so baggy and shapeless can look so good?) I would die to be wearing either of those Dries Van Noten outfits right now.

Friday

I want you for mine

So I have been MIA lately, busy with work and such (that's my excuse), but I would like to sincerely apologize to both my readers. On another note, it's officially fall! And officially time for me to spend an entire pay cheque on a new Fall wardrobe. Starting with these things from the Zara September lookbook.

Ever girl needs a pair of suede shorts, no?

The skirt... and probably the sweater.

I'm in the market for a new white button up, this is a strong contender.
