Dreams do come true! Long have I yearned for an Alexa Mulberry bag of my very own, all the while knowing that I could never EVER actually afford it (or get high enough up on the waiting list to even have the chance to purchase it). However, much to the delight of many young fashion conscious women, Mulberry announced that they will be teaming up with Target to launch collection of affordable handbags from October 10th till December 24th. This is great news, because my bag (as seen above) which I bought with the Alexa Mulberry in mind, is getting a little ratty. So... who wants to take a road trip to the States in October, and possibly camp out in front of the nearest Target for a few nights? Hmmm??

Sunday

Hello, I love you.

It's no secret how much I love Frida Gustavsson. She's an incredible model, I love her face, and I love her style. I definitely was not that fashionable when I was 17.

Love this.

These are some screen shots from a film that I watched last night; A Single Man, directed by Tom Ford. The film is in one word, stunning, which is not surprising coming from the fashion designer. But it's not just the clothing that is beautiful, everything about this film, from the lighting, camera angels, and mise en scene, to the people in it, is visually alluring. I won't even get into how engaging the writing, story line and acting were... I'll just say watch this movie, your eyes, ears and mind wont be disappointed.

I think this outfit of mine was indirectly inspired by that one that SJP wore in Sex and the City 2. Now let me explain. I remembered loving the baggy tank top/short skirt combination. So I wore just that during the day (along with my fedora because I didn't want to wash my hair!) Then in the evening I added the loose unstructured blazer. Please excuse the unimpressed look on my face, believe it or not, I was actually quite happy at the time.

It's now July and the past 2 days have felt like over 40 degrees, so it's pretty much impossible to even fathom wearing any sort of long pants. But I'm fine with that because I love shorts, and I absolutely adore these three simple t-shirt and shorts looks. So polished yet casual. And who says black and brown don't work together? I love the brown shoe/black sock combination in the third picture.

Interesting. This was a photo of Terry standing with the three naked girls giving the thumbs up, but it was removed by photobucket, I believe because they deemed it "offensive content".

Yesterday morning my roommate Meg asked me if I thought that models Abbey Lee and Freja were dating. Struck by this concept of two of the hottest girls in fashion being an item, I went straight to the internet! And I stumbled upon this shoot by Terry Richardson for Purple magazine from 2009. I am relatively new to the whole fashion blogging world, so this was my first time seeing this particular collection of shots. Now, I have nothing against nude photography, I think it can be very beautiful and tasteful... these shots however, I do not find very tasteful. Siting in my room with my jaw dropped I think to my self "of course this is a Terry Richardson shoot". The girls look beautiful, and they seem to be having a good time, but I just think it's a bit much. I know that Terry is a noted photographer, but Jesus that man gives me the creeps. I don't like his grin, his glasses, or his thumbs up. I do like some of his photos, they have a very raw quality to them... but he's still at the top of my slimeball list, right up there with Dov Charney, founder of American Apparel (and why do they look alike too?). I have read disturbing articles about both of those men and I have come to the decision that I would never want to be alone in a room with either of them.

But don't worry Freja, Abbey Lee, Eniko and Magdalena, I still love you girls!

** To any Terry Richardson fans out there, I hope you will still read my blog :)
