Ghosts with just voices

Here a few shots of Denisa Dvorakova by Johan Sandberg for Marie Claire Italia January 2011. All the clothes are white and the images are sort of ghostly. The first one really caught my eye, and I absolutely love it. The others aren't bad either.

I wore the exact same thing to the grocery store today. I think the cashier liked my outfit, but he forgot to charge me for the canned tomatoes I was buying... Such a versatile outfit though.

I just recently rediscovered this song. So good. I chose this video version for 2 reasons. Firstly because the "official video" for the song had a youtube ad before it played (god damn you youtube ads! You ruin everything), and secondly because I think it's funny to watch Martha Wainwright's mannerisms while she sings in this video... particularly in the hands. Enjoy!

There's no need to convert a believer

I came across this collection the other day and boy oh boy was I excited! I was going to just post a few, but I couldn't choose. So here is almost all of the Theyskens' theory resort 2012 collection, for your enjoyment.

That crochet bag is perfect! If you don't mind people seeing everything you're carrying, and the occasional item falling out.

Blue boots are the one thing missing from my life.

Great colour on that bag and those pants! Ok red pants are an other thing still missing from my life. But I guess in the greater scheme of things, that's really not that bad.

I've been thinking about wearing extremely long shirts with shorts. Doesn't she look nice? Also that skirt is just lovely.

More red pants!! Hurray! I can't tell if that printed blazer has a collar or not. If it does not (and I really don't think it does) then that is pretty cool and I want it. If it does have a collar I still want it... but I might cut the collar off.

Those pants look like they are made of liquid. Liquid pants people, we have the technology!

The sheer pant!! Here it is. I don't know where on earth I can find a pair, or how I can make them, but I've simply got to try.

The top says classy and casual, the bottom says 80's grunge. Talking of course about the girl on the left. Honey on the right is grampa chic from head to toe, and that works too!

Ombre shirt and skirt... but NOT in the same outfit. Never.

Hello! Holy crazy week. After a lovely long weekend at the cottage, I returned to mounds of uncompleted homework. I am slowly but surely working my through that, but for the time being I decided to take a little break to share something with you. You'll never guess what it is.... pictures of clothes I wore! Yay!

My old pal Michelle gave me this for my birthday a few weeks ago. It's crocheted, white, and wonderful. And it's from 69 Vintage, one of Toronto's little gems. I'm leaving the liner in for now because I am fond of it. But there may come a time when I decide to take it out. If I should do that, I will be sure to wear something substantial underneath, I promise.

Actually now that I look at this, I recall that it was the outfit I wore on my first day of summer school! Not the kind of summer school you have to go to because you failed a class, but the kind you go to when you consciously make a choice to do full-time courses during the summer. I do not recommend making this choice. That's probably why I look so bitter.

Seriously, I am pretty much a spokesperson for Roots. They may as well sponsor me. Right? (Roots if you do decide to reward me for all the free glowing publicity I give to your bags, I am veeeery interested in this purse, in the bright pink and orange colour;). Worth a shot right?)

On another note, often when I write blog posts I listen to music while I write. And perhaps you noticed that my post titles are all song lyrics (no really!). So I have decided that from now on I will include whatever song I am currently listening to at the end of each post. Just for funsies! Please enjoy The Antlers, I don't want love.

My heart beats too loud to go to sleep

Fashionista.com told me to check out Madewell's fall 2011 collection, and I did. They also told me I would love everything in the collection, and I do! How did they know!?

Here are some of my favourite looks, along with as much witty commentary as I can come up with in the 10 minutes I am a allotting myself to do this post (I have homework and sleep to get to.)

This coat sort of looks like the coat that a Grizzly Bear wears...

We've done shorts skirts and we've done ridiculously long ones. This was the one skirt length that contemporary fashion had not yet experimented with, and now we've done it! We have nothing more to learn.

All this time I have been cuffing my jeans so neatly. Now I see there is another way to do it, a lumpier way. And I like it.

I just... I just love those shoes so much. Judging by the look on her face, she does too.

Sometimes I think "no, I can't wear my maxi skirt and a trendy hat at the same time, it's just too much!" Boy was I wrong!

Get ready; suspenders are back baby!

I wish I was this happy about anything. But I guess that's what happens when you wear yellow and pink together (I'm smiling a bit just talking about it!)

The great thing about fashion is that a huge coat totally compensates for the fact that you are wearing no tights and open toe shoes in the fall.

My computer is starting to make a weird noise now, so I guess that's all I have time for. If you are trying to go to sleep like I am, you might enjoy this song... Night.
